2. Information we collect

We collect the minimum information necessary to provide our service:

• Email address: to create your account and send you price drop alerts
• Password: stored securely as a one-way hash. We never store your plain text password.
• Wishlist data: the books you add to your watchlist and their tracked prices
• Usage data: basic server logs including IP addresses and page visits, retained for 30 days

3. How we use your information

• To provide the price tracking and email alert service
• To send you a daily email digest when prices drop on your watchlist
• To improve and maintain the service
• To comply with legal obligations

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating this service.

4. Sharing your information

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, except:

• Service providers: we use Supabase (database) and Resend (email delivery) to operate the service. These providers process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements.
• Affiliate networks: when retailer affiliate programs are approved and live, the relevant network (such as Rakuten Advertising for Kobo AU) may collect information such as your IP address and browser details to track referrals and credit commissions. As of the date of this policy, no affiliate networks are active. Rakuten Advertising's privacy policy is available at rakutenadvertising.com.
• Legal requirements: if required by Australian law or a valid legal process.

5. Affiliate links

Swagman's Shelf is applying to retailer affiliate programs. When programs are live, clicking a purchase link may earn Swagman's Shelf a small commission at no extra cost to you. 6. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing contact@swagmansshelf.com.au. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

7. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information
• Withdraw consent to marketing emails at any time
