Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: May 2026
Current status: Swagman's Shelf is applying to retailer affiliate programs. No programs are live yet, and no commission is currently earned on any link. When a program is approved, this page will be updated and links carrying an affiliate code will be clearly marked. Affiliate relationships never change which books we track, how results rank, or the prices we show.
What is affiliate marketing?
Affiliate marketing is an arrangement where a website earns a commission when a visitor clicks a link and makes a purchase. The retailer pays the commission, not the customer. You pay exactly the same price whether you click our link or go directly to the retailer's website.
Our affiliate relationships
Swagman's Shelf is applying to the following affiliate programs:
- Kobo AU: through the Rakuten Advertising affiliate program (application pending)
- Apple Books: through the Partnerize affiliate program (application pending)
- Google Play Books: if and when a public affiliate path becomes available for AU consumer purchases
Until a program is approved, "Buy on Kobo", "Buy on Apple Books" and "Buy on Google Play" links go directly to the retailer with no affiliate tracking code attached. Once a program goes live, links carrying an affiliate code will be clearly marked. If you complete a purchase through one of those links, Swagman's Shelf may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. You'll always pay the same price the retailer is charging.
Our commitment to you
- We display accurate prices regardless of affiliate relationships
- We track all eligible books, not just those that earn us a commission
- Affiliate commissions do not influence which books appear in search results
- We clearly disclose all affiliate relationships as required by Australian Consumer Law
- We never recommend a more expensive option to earn a higher commission
How commissions support us
Swagman's Shelf is a free service. When affiliate programs are live, commissions help cover operating costs (server hosting, email delivery, and API fees) so the service can stay free for Australian readers. We appreciate your support when you buy through our links.
Australian Consumer Law compliance
This disclosure is made in accordance with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) guidelines on affiliate marketing and the Australian Consumer Law. All commercial relationships are disclosed openly on this page.
